RE: Tow Mirror

Many folks use the slipon mirrors. As long as you can get them secured so they don't vibrate a lot, they should be fine.

RE: Any tips on a Maxxair vent install?

Did you spring for the hinge bracket install kit, makes it much easier to clean under them. I'll be taking mine off this fall and when I do I'm planning on replacing the bracket with the hinged model. Hinged Bracket for Maxx Air vent covers

RE: Branson for Thanksgiving

I second the Compton's Ridge Campground. My favorite site is 105 a premier site. I would think the indoor pool is open. Might just call them or look at their website. I have look at the Compton Ridge site map and of course the sites aren't numbered. In what area is site 105.

RE: Hwy 36 accross Missouri

Highway 36 is more "Interstate" like than it was years ago. Eventually it will be renamed I-72 once the final construction work is completed in the next year or so. As far as being bouncy, I did notice some of that three years ago, more on the western end past Chillicothe going towards St. Joe. All in all, a good road IMO.

Branson for Thanksgiving

Conversation came up last night during dinner about a possible trip to Branson for Thanksgiving. Anyone ever been down there during this time. Just poked around the Comption Ridge site, probably will choose them. Does anyone know if the indoor heated pool will be open, pools are always a big hit with the kids.

RE: I-77 south from Ohio to I-85

Pipestem State Park in WV is very nice, about 10 or so miles off I-77 though.

RE: Removable 5er hitch pins

Mine does the same thing. I took a small file and touched up the slot, helped a little but it's still tougher to get out than the other three.

RE: General campground question

Fred just talk with the owners/management. I've never been denied a early arrival or late stay. Of course it depends on the type of campground and if the site may be reserved by someone coming in behind you. As far as the two night minimum, you'll run into that for weekends but not usually for stays during the week.

RE: camping around badlands sd

You shouldn't have any trouble getting a site in the park for tent camping. There are two campgrounds, one near the visitor center that has water available and flush toilets and another that has pit toilets and no water available. We stayed at the KOA in Interior, one of the nicer KOA's IMO. They've got any area dedicated to tent camping.

RE: TOW JETSKI - REPLACE ALUMINUM BUMPER?

Are you sure that you have an aluminum frame. You're not confusing aluminum framed walls with the coach frame. Never heard of a coach frame in aluminum in larger units.

RE: Where to Camp with the Family

There are many campgrounds that do "theme weekends". The one we frequent has a Halloween weekend that is a big hit. Look locally, you might be surprised by what you have in your backyard.

RE: 2500HD - 3500 Hub Bearing - FYI

What years did your mechanic have to replace? 2001-2004 as I recall. Said to save the receipt in case of a recall, not betting on it though...

2500HD - 3500 Hub Bearing - FYI

Just a heads up for you who have 2500HD-35000's. I just had the left front hub bearing replaced at 80K. Thought it was a caliper dragging, turned out to be a hub bearing. Mechanic says he's replaced about 25 in the last 18 months, always left front, always 2500HD-3500. Something you don't want to fail.

RE: Any problems with no front Florida plate?

Well... I was pulled over in New Hampshire last year for no apparent reason by a small town police officer. First thing he asks for is license & reg which I gave him. When I asked why I was pulled over he stated that my truck isn't tagged. Pointed out nicely that in Missouri, truck tags are on the front. He stepped to the front and saw it and walked straight back to his cruiser and got on the radio. Five minutes later he apologized for any inconvenience and sent me on my way.

RE: Finding the sweet spot

For me it's more of a "seat of the pants" feeling than anything else. Depends on conditions; wind , grade, etc.
